We want to hear from the studios, retreats, spas, app makers, teachers and practitioners our readers learn from. We publish their news, interview them, and run articles they write.
editorNews and press releases
Wellness brands, studios, spas, retreats, app makers and the PR agencies who work with them: send us your news. A new studio or retreat, a program, a launch, a study, an award, or a change in how people can take part.
What to send
- The release itself, in the email or as a link.
- The date and time it goes out, and any embargo.
- One or more photos you own or have the right to share, with a caption and a credit for each.
- The name and email of someone who can answer questions.
Subject line: News: your headline
Q&As
We interview the people behind the practice: yoga and meditation teachers, Reiki practitioners, retreat leaders, spa founders and the people who design wellbeing apps. Suggest yourself or a colleague.
What to send
- Who it is: name, role and where they work.
- What they do, in two or three lines.
- Three or four things they could talk about.
- A recent photo of them that you have the right to share.
We send the questions by email or talk by phone or video. Answers run in the person's own words, edited for length, and we check quotes back with them before the Q&A runs.
Subject line: Q&A: name, studio or company
Contributed articles
We publish bylined articles by people who know their practice first hand: how a teacher plans a course for beginners, what a retreat changes in its program between seasons, how an app maker tests a new sleep feature.
What to send
- A pitch first, not a finished piece: the topic, what a reader will take from it, and why you are the one to write it, in a few lines.
- Once we say yes: 700 to 1,500 words, original and not published anywhere else, including your own website or social media.
- Practical and grounded: a tradition named as a tradition, a figure with the study it comes from, examples with names and places.
- Written by a named person, with a headshot and a bio of two or three sentences.
- A line saying whether you or your employer sells or gains from anything the article mentions. We print it at the foot of the article.
Subject line: Article pitch: your topic
What we do not take
- Readings or predictions offered for a fee.
- Health, cure or money promises of any kind.
- Sales pitches, product promotion or pieces written mainly to name a company.
- Articles already published somewhere else.
- Photos you do not have the right to share.
How we edit
We may edit anything we run for length, clarity and our house style, and we write the headlines. For contributed articles we send you the edited version before it goes live. You keep the copyright in what you write and give us the right to publish it here.
Where to send it
Email editor@bodyandsoulmag.com with the subject line for your kind of contribution. One story or pitch per email, please. For corrections and anything else, see the contact page; for who we are, see About.
