Sun Home Launches Nova Indoor Traditional Saunas

Sun Home Saunas has launched Nova, its first indoor traditional sauna line, in 3-person and 5-person models. The San Diego wellness brand developed the range around a HUUM Drop electric rock heater, which reaches up to 230°F and supports water-on-stones löyly. Prices start at $10,599 for the 3-person model and $14,599 for the 5-person model. Both are available now with free shipping and HSA/FSA eligibility.

Traditional Steam Sauna Design

Nova uses a HUUM Drop rock heater to heat the cabin and sauna stones, allowing users to pour water over them to create steam. The 3-person model has a 6kW heater and requires a dedicated 240V, 30A circuit, while the 5-person version has a 7.5kW heater and requires a 240V, 40A circuit. Sun Home says Nova should be installed by a licensed electrician rather than connected to a standard household outlet.

Tyler Fish, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Sun Home Saunas, said:

“Traditional sauna is one of the oldest wellness rituals in the world, and most of the options out there still look and feel like they did decades ago. With Nova, we kept everything that makes löyly special — the real steam, the intense heat, the ritual — and elevated the design, the materials, and the everyday experience to the standard our customers expect from Sun Home.”

Materials And Controls

The sauna interiors are finished in Canadian cedar, with hand-laid carbonized hexagonal tiles from an Estonian workshop on the back wall. Both models include dual-stack benches, electronic ventilation, marine-grade stainless steel fasteners, black privacy glass, and LED and RGB lighting.

Temperature and scheduling are managed through the Wi-Fi-enabled HUUM app. Sun Home describes the cabins as constructed with non-toxic, low-VOC materials.

Models And Availability

The 3-person Nova measures 64.9 inches wide, 57.1 inches deep, and 82.7 inches high, weighing about 772 pounds. The 5-person model measures 78.7 inches wide, 68.9 inches deep, and 82.7 inches high, weighing about 926 pounds.

The line is designed for indoor installation in suitable home wellness spaces, gyms, and sauna rooms with the required electrical, ventilation, flooring, and clearance conditions. Nova includes a limited lifetime warranty on the sauna cabin.
