Sunlighten has introduced Amplify RED powered by near infrared, a red light sauna for people who want the intense heat of a traditional sauna along with infrared and red light therapy in one experience. The product is available now through Sunlighten.com. It reaches temperatures of up to 170°F and gives users separate controls for its photobiomodulation and infrared systems. Founded in 1999, Sunlighten has used infrared light in its saunas for more than 25 years and holds 37 patents.

Light And Heat Design

Amplify RED uses visible red light and near infrared photobiomodulation, alongside full-spectrum infrared heat. The company says wavelength, placement, proximity, coverage and dose were considered in its design, accounting for how light and heat reach the body.

Aaron Zack, CEO at Sunlighten, said:

“Putting a red light panel in a sauna isn't the same as engineering a sauna around how light reaches the body. With Amplify RED, every decision from wavelength and placement to proximity, coverage and dose is informed by how the body actually receives light. That's the difference between adding a feature and architecting based on the science.”

Materials And Controls

The sauna includes Sunlighten’s SoloCarbon far infrared heater technology, which the company says has up to 99% emissivity, and CELLIANT infrared fiber in its heater coverings. Improved insulation, a double-pane glass door and refined temperature controls are intended to help it reach and maintain temperatures up to 170°F.

Connie Zack, Co-founder at Sunlighten, said:

“We consider thermal biology, how the body responds to heat, and photobiology, how the body responds to light. That means purposeful delivery of wavelength, dose, proximity, placement and whole-body coverage, because what reaches the body matters for the wellness experience.”

Two Sauna Collections

Sunlighten said Amplify RED follows its 2010 mPulse sauna, which combined near infrared light with a far infrared sauna. Its mPulse collection uses PulseIQ for app-guided infrared and photobiomodulation protocols, while Amplify RED is designed for people seeking red and near infrared light alongside higher-intensity full-spectrum heat.
