Bright Crowns App Launches for Black Children
Bright Crowns launches a five-minute daily wellness app for Black children, with a free seven-day trial and family subscription.
by Body & Soul Newsroom ·

Bright Crowns, an Atlanta-founded daily wellness app for Black children, is now available through the Apple App Store. The five-minute morning routine combines breathwork, culturally grounded affirmations and stories of Black figures from the past and present. Founders David and Tia Harley developed the app for their own two children before sharing it with other families. The launch includes a free seven-day trial and a $69.99 first-year Founding Family rate for families who join by Dec. 31.
A Daily Routine
Bright Crowns is designed to be used from morning to night, with sessions before tests or games, tools for big feelings, sleep stories from the African diaspora and a weekly parent-led reflection. Children can earn crowns drawn from real African kingdoms.
The release cites research on culturally grounded practices, ethnic-racial identity and mindfulness programs for young people.
Built By Atlanta Parents
David Harley is an award-winning creative director who has led multicultural brand campaigns. Tia Harley previously led business development and partnerships at Google after a marketing career at AT&T.
Tia Harley, Co-Founder and CEO at Bright Crowns, said:
“We can't always lighten the load our children carry. But we can help make them strong enough to carry it, with their heads held high.”
Access For Families
One Bright Crowns subscription covers every child in a household. Families can access the app now through the Apple App Store.
David Harley, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Bright Crowns, said:
“Our children are already brilliant. We don't teach them to survive. We teach them they were born to thrive. Their crowns are already on. We just help them remember.”
