Hatch has introduced Hatch Sleep Clock, a $249.99 bedside sleep tracker that uses contactless sensing rather than a wearable, camera, or microphone. The device tracks sleep patterns and uses them to customize bedtime routines with light, audio, and guidance. Hatch says its technology is 97% accurate at detecting sleep. The Sleep Clock is available now through Hatch’s website, with other retailers planned later this year.

Contactless Sleep Tracking

Hatch Sleep Clock uses ultra-low-power radio signals to detect breathing and movement from the bedside. It tracks bedtimes, sleep onset, overnight waking, and time spent in core, REM, and deep sleep. Hatch cites a study of non-contact radar technology and machine learning for its sleep-detection accuracy figure.

Ann Crady Weiss, Co-Founder and CEO at Hatch, said:

“We didn't set out to build another sleep tracker. We set out to help people sleep better. For more than a decade, we've been learning what helps people build bedtime routines they actually enjoy. Sleep tracking became the missing piece. It helps us understand what works for each person so we can create personalized routines they want to come back to. Rather than simply reporting what happened last night, Hatch Sleep Clock gets you to bed tonight.”

Personalized Bedtime Routines

The device offers recommendations around sleep audio, bedtime and wake-time consistency, sleep-hygiene and CBT-I principles, and product features such as bedtime reminders and sunrise alarms. Users can build routines from meditations, sound baths, sleep stories, podcasts, audiobooks, ASMR, and sleep music, paired with light settings.

Fiona Biles, Chief Product Officer at Hatch, said:

“The insight isn't the finish line, it's the starting point. Better sleep isn't built through one perfect night. It's built through small changes that become lasting habits. That's why Hatch Sleep Clock focuses on delivering personalized recommendations that help people build better routines instead of simply assigning a nightly grade.”

Hatch Plus Subscription

Sleep tracking, personalized insights, recommendations, selected sleep sounds, audiobooks, alarms, and circadian-backed lights are included with the device. Hatch+ costs $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year and includes more than 2,500 sleep-focused audio experiences, with new audio added weekly.
